Benjamin Lachman, MBA, was born profoundly deaf and is a native deaf cuer. His family began cueing when he was 18 months old and it became clear early on that visual access to language would be paramount for Benjamin's language acquisition process.
Benjamin's mission is to continue to build infrastructure for Cued American English, to ensure that families are able to secure the services they choose for their child, to advocate for representation in relevant legislation, and to ensure that deaf or hard of hearing individuals have access to their preferred language(s) and mode(s) of communication throughout their lives.
Benjamin is also the Government Liaison for the NCSA, an organization he has served for over 15 years. In addition to his advocacy for access to languages, Benjamin has 13+ years of digital marketing experience with an emphasis on entrepreneurship and business marketing.
Benjamin is passionate about creating opportunities for organizations to build value and gain traction in their respective missions by developing successful marketing & communications strategies. As Benjamin likes to say, the ability to clearly and compellingly communicate a value system makes progress possible. To that end, Benjamin is also learning ASL, so that he can share in and understand the ASL lived experience.
With a BA in English and an MBA, Benjamin has a deep background in helping businesses and nonprofits tell their stories as a Community Manager for Fresh Content Society
He currently lives in Farmington Hills, Michigan with his family.
