Katelyn Mathis has been a sign language interpreter going on seven years. She received her bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies from Gallaudet University and is proud to announce that buff and blue still runs through her veins!
Katelyn currently holds a VQAS standing of III/III for ASL interpreting. She is working on obtaining a VQAS standing for Cued American English. In addition, Katelyn is pursing the RID NIC, as she has already passed the written assessment. Continuing with her love of languages, Katelyn is learning Spanish.
She has been involved in several volunteer events that support fostering language access and development for deaf students, their families, and the communities they live in. Katelyn strongly and fully believes in giving oneself all of the needed tools and skills to be able to accommodate a variety of individuals.
